Our Mission
The mission of the ministry is to serve those in need by providing food, clothing, medical care, and emotional support to the hungry, homeless, sick, elderly, widows and orphans. We strive to create a safe and nurturing environment for these individuals so that they can have access to the resources they need in order to lead healthy and productive lives. Our goal is not only to provide these individuals with basic necessities but also to empower them by giving them the tools they need for self-sufficiency. We believe that everyone should have an opportunity for a better life regardless of their current circumstances.
Is to do as Christ has instructed in Matthew 25:31-46: "to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, visit the sick, care for the needy, widows, and orphans, and to provide ministry and care unto even the least of these."

My name is Ekong Seechang, and I was born into a deeply impoverished family in Namhta, Laos. Life in our village was marked by hardship. We were surrounded by poverty and the pervasive influence of animistic beliefs. Every New Year, the villagers would engage in heavy drinking, often leading to violence. Fear of evil spirits was deeply ingrained in our lives. Whenever someone fell ill or misfortune struck, we were compelled to offer animal sacrifices, often plunging our family further into debt.
My father's alcoholism had a devastating impact on our family. His drunken rages filled me with terror, and I spent many nights hiding from him. Witnessing his suicide at a young age left an indelible mark on my soul.
The onset of the Vietnam War forced our family to flee our home. We endured a perilous journey through the jungle, culminating in a desperate river crossing where my mother nearly drowned. We finally found refuge in Thailand, but life there was equally challenging. We faced starvation and were forced to beg for survival. The Thai Army eventually placed us in a refugee camp, where we lived in confinement for many years.
An unexpected opportunity arose when the United States offered resettlement options. Our family chose to come to Salt Lake City, Utah, where we were graciously welcomed by the Mormon community. Despite the initial challenges of adjusting to a new culture and language, the kindness of our sponsors provided a lifeline.
My life took a significant turn when I met my husband, Jaha, a fellow refugee who had already embraced Christianity. Through him, I was introduced to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This newfound faith brought profound healing and comfort, offering a sense of peace I had never known before.
Now, I am blessed with four children and a deep desire to share the love of Christ with others. I yearn to return to Southeast Asia, reaching out to those who are still trapped in poverty and spiritual darkness. My hope is to offer them the same hope and transformation that I have experienced.
